(A) 5-HT3A receptor expression increased gradually in spinal cord enlargement of BDL rats, whereas expression of 5-HT3B, 5-HT3C, 5-HT3D, and 5-HT3E receptors did not change significantly. (B) The quantitative analysis of 5-HT3A receptor expression in BDL rats. (C) Intrathecal administration of bilirubin increased 5-HT3A receptor expression without changing other subtypes. (D) The quantitative analysis of 5-HT3A receptor expression after intrathecal administration of bilirubin in normal rats. (E) SDHNs cultured with bilirubin showed increased 5-HT3A receptor expression without changing other subtypes. (F) The quantitative analysis of 5-HT3A receptor expression in SDHNs. (G) Immunofluorescence showed that 5-HT3A receptor expression increased in laminas I and II in the spinal cords of BDL rats.
